Giving Statement
Many churches teach that members are required to give a tithe of income to the church to be obedient to the Old Testament law. We believe that the Church is now under the new covenant of grace and not required to keep the law any longer (Galatians 5:18). In response to Christ’s lavish grace and His cost on the cross, the New Testament goes on to teach proportional giving, and spurs us on to give even more to advance His kingdom as God individually prospers and leads. The New Testament also stresses the importance of a cheerful giver, and giving willingly with an open hand (2 Corinthians 9:7). This heart attitude is what we value most in our members. We also recognize that the final decision of your financial giving is ultimately between you and God. We honor the privacy of this process, and your financial records are kept private. This being said, we have a high level of trust that members are contributing regularly and generously to support our church and believe God will bless and empower us as we joyfully band together to bring Him glory.
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able thus to offer willingly? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
